Sweet Almond Oil Profile


Sweet Almond Oil is pressed from the dried kernels of sweet almonds and is rich in omega-9 and omega-6 fatty acids. The almond tree is originally native to the Middle East and was domesticated sometime between 3,000 and 2,000 B.C.

Sweet Almond Oil is excellent for every skin type and it will calm itching, chapping, dryness, and inflammation. It can also smooth away fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. This oil is an excellent emollient that is known to soften and recondition the skin. Also, rich in Olein Glyceride Linoleic Acid and Vitamin D, it can be extremely nourishing especially when used regularly

The almond itself is the fruit of the tree, technically considered a drupe it is not a nut. The ancients found it so important that they included it in their religious rituals. The ancient Egyptians believed in an afterlife in which they were able to bring with them earthly possessions. Almonds were discovered in the tomb of King Tutankhamen and must have been considered worthy of royalty. To this day, some of the finest woodwind instruments are conditioned with sweet almond oil.
